The coin is limited to 1,000 pieces and is made from 99.99% pure silver, presented with a coloured card and is officially licensed by King Features. The cost is $79AU ($55US/EU, 555kr/nok and 4,300 INR) You will be able to buy this from most coin places like Perth Mint, Australia Post and other coin shops like Direct Coins. The front design has a classic Phantom crossing his arms with the good and skull mark tiled in the background. Worth noting that the late Queen Elizabeth II is on the back who is Australia's monarch. All new coins from 2023 will feature the new monarch King Charles III. Here are the front and back and side angle design of the coin. Some phans may remember a 2016 80th anniversary Phantom coin with a skull cave (pictured right). The Skull Cave lite up and came in a coloured box design. These coins are now next to impossible to find and buy with coin collectors snapping these up as well. There have been other coin releases and if the demand is there Chronicle Chamber will look to do a video review off the others in the coming months. This 2022 designed coin comes with a coloured presentation. Some may be wondering about the usage of the new images which came from the new Phantom style guide designed by artist Amelia Vidal that was designed in 2020. Mikael Lyck from Chronicle Chamber reviews the latest Fantomen issue - 2022/24 which features the following stories: "Legenden om Vråkarna, kapitel 3: Den ondskefulle baronen" ("Saga of the Vultures Chapter Three: The Sinister Baron") by Pidde Andersson and Anthony Spay "Det försvunna planet" ("Jungle Mystery") by Tony DePaul, George Olesen, and Keith Williams Quite a striking cover by Luca Erbetta. The editorial page writes about the Swedish and Norwegian Christmas albums and then about the Boss Fight Studio action figures. Our reviews are on our website and YouTube channel (Norwegian Christmas Review, Boss Fight Studio Figurines wave 1.0, wave 1.5 and with Hero). The main story is the concluding part of Pidde Andersson and Anthony Spay's Vulture's Origin trilogy, first published in Frew #1888. Another great chapter that looks awesome in color. This part has less backstory and is more of a classic Phantom story, and ties up the bag on this great ark. The second Phantom story in this comic is the Daily story Jungle Mystery by Tony DePaul, George Olesen and Keith Williams. A story about two pilots having to do an emergency landing in the jungle close to the border to Rhodia. Multiple parties try to get hold of them first with different agendas. Previews for the last issue of the year which will be a 100 page issue with a new Team Fantomen story The Ghost Canoe, by David Bishop and Kari Leppänen (can learn more about this story here), Two Team Fantomen reprints The Lord of the Jungle by Kjell T. Johnsen, Claes Reimerthi and Heiner Bade plus Diana Married by Janne Lundström and Özcan Eralp. Rounding this issue is a new Karl Kämpe story! After publishing the great Trade Paperback of The Chatu Saga back in May 2022 they returned to publishing regular issues of the comics with an anniversary special edition released in July and August 2022 (X-Band: The Phantom Podcast #219). Issues #22, #23 and #24 were released in July 2022. Issue #22 features a cover from a new artist Shaji Mathew. It features two Daily stories 'The Patrolwomen' and 'The Hunt For The Unknown Commander' by Tony DePaul and Paul Ryan. Both stories have been printed and presented very well by Regal. Issue #23 features a fantastic cover from Ankit Mitra. It features two Daily stories 'John X' and 'The Patrolman X' by Tony DePaul and Paul Ryan. I quite enjoyed both stories and they have been printed very well by Regal. Issue #24 features another cover from Ankit Mitra. It is based on the story 'The Lost Catacombs'. I really like the coloring on it. The issue features two Sunday stories 'The Lost Catacombs' and 'The Phantom is Everywhere'. Both stories are written by Tony De Paul and the artwork on the first story is done by Paul Ryan and the second story is done by Terry Beaty and Jeff Weigel. It is notable that this was the first story that was drawn by Jeff Weigel. In August 2022, Regal released an anniversary special comics celebrating them publishing The Phantom for two years in English. The comic was like the trade paperback released earlier this year as it had a laminated cover, perfect binding and four stories. It has a painted cover done by Ankit Mitra after the styles of Sy Barry and Pratap Mulick. It's a very good production containing 4 Sunday stories. The stories that are included are The Wiseguy" by Tony DePaul and Terry Beatty. "The Rat Must Die" created by Tony DePaul and Jeff Weigel. "Vigil at Phantom Head" by Tony DePaul and Jeff Weigel and "The Visitor" by Tony DePaul and Jeff Weigel. It is worth noting that "The Rat Must Die" is the longest Sunday story and this will be the first time "The Visitor" has been published in comic book format before Frew and Fantomen. These issues are very nice and worth buying. Regal has continued to deliver great products for phantom phans in India. We hope that they continue doing that. This is my first review for Chronicle Chamber, hope you enjoy it. The stories featured are: "The Den of Tigers" by Tony DePaul and Paul Ryan "Mexico's Phantom" by Tony DePaul and Paul Ryan Shakti Comics is the second publication in India which is now producing Phantom comics beside Regal. Unlike Regal, Shakti also publishes the comics in three languages Including - English, Hindi and Bengali. They have released 5 comics so far which have been pretty good. After releasing the third issue in March 2022, Shakti released two more issues in June 2022 and August 2022. These two issues contain the final parts of the Phantom and Mexico stories by Tony DePaul and Paul Ryan. Issue 4 has a cover by Ankit Mitra. With this issue Shakti has used Spot UV on the cover, which look very nice. The comics features the Daily story 'The Den of Tigers' by Tony DePaul and Paul Ryan. It also includes a recap of what happened in the previous issue before starting the story, which gives it a very Indrajal nostalgia feel. The story is very well printed by Shakti on a much more thicker glossy paper then what Regal uses. The comics has a pin up poster in the middle with Art by Abhishek Biswas and a freebee of a phantom sticker with art by him as well. The back cover features an ad for the next issue, which does give it the Indrajal feel. Issue 5 has a cover done by Abhishek Biswas. It is his first Phantom cover and it is a very good one. This cover us also spot UV which is very nice. It features the Daily story 'Mexico's Phantom' by Tony DePaul and Paul Ryan. This issue also has a recap of the last issue. This story has also been printed well by Shakti. The back cover of this comic also features what is to come in the next issue as "Death Comes to the Phantom from the Sky". This comics includes a sticker of the phantom as a freebee. Shakti has produced quality products so far. However they do need to keep up their quality and production with their next issues to properly catch up with the other publishers. You buy the issues from Shakti's website if your in India. If your outside India, Frew Publications sells them on their website or you can trade with an Indian phan. 19th November 2022 was the annual Stanley Dinner which saw cartoonists from across Australia gather at the new National Cartoon Museum in Coffs Harbour. This is the first in person event since 2019. The Stanley Awards are unique as they are peer voted by Australia’s best cartoonists, caricaturists, illustrators, comic book and comic strip artists, animators and digital artists. Founded in 1924, the ACA is the longest running cartoonist association globally with a proud history as an integral part of the fabric of Australian society. Canberra Times cartoonist David Pope was the winner of the Gold Stanley – Cartoonist Of The Year. The other 2022 Stanley Awards winners are: Animation Cartoonist: Edmund Iffland Book Illustrator: Judy Nadin / Leigh Hobbs (TIED) Caricaturist: Judy Nadin Comic Book Artist: Paul Mason Comic Strip Cartoonist: Tony Lopes Editorial/Political Cartoonist: David Pope Event Cartoonist: Paul Harvey Illustrator: David Pope Single Gag Cartoonist: Andrew Weldon Several other Phantom artists were nominated in Antonio Lemos, Jeremy Macpherson and Glenn Lumsden. The Phantom has an indifferent history in the United Kingdom with many unsuccessful comic series through out both England & Ireland. The first time he featured in a stand alone comic series was the Miller series in 1959 and the last was 2019 in Ireland with the hard to find comics from Lightning Strikes. He has also appeared in several other comic book series as a backup character including perhaps the most popular the TV Tornado comic series. Now in 2022, the UK magazine Infinity Magazine has released the cover for issue #55 including the Phantom on the front cover. It is great to see the Phantom in popular culture. Not much is known about the contents apart from you can see on the front cover at this stage. The magazine is in colour and contains 68 pages of content. You can find more information at the Infinity Magazine website. The magazine is released 25th November 2022 (earlier if you are subscribed). The cost is £6 ($12Au, $7US/EU & 75sek/nok). Mythos Brazil has announced another bumper themed omnibus on the back of their successful Ray Moore and Italian Spada 2022 released omnibus'. This omnibus to be released in December 2022 titled "O Fantasma Omnibus – Os Ratos Do Porto & Outras Historias" and will include all classic Sy Barry stories . Again Mythos Brazil has released news of this new publication by giving a special pre order 50% off the retail price. The retail price is R$ 234,90 ($45US & Euro, $70Au & 500sek/nok) and the special pre order price is R$ 117,45 ($25US & Euro, $35Au & 250sek/nok). These books are HUGE, this Sy Barry omnibus is 550+ pages. There are list of stories as of yet but we are led to believe the stories will be from the 1960's. Manufactured by Ikon Collectables and due to be released March 2023 it is now available for pre order on a number of websites including the Pop Cultcha website. It is a pity they wont be available for Christmas 2022 as they would make an excellent present for us. The retail price is a very reasonable $29.99AU and Pop Cultcha has a special pre order price of $26.99Au which is $17US/EU, £15 and 200 sek/nok. Ikon Collectables have a rich history of producing top quality statues and mugs but this is the first item they have released for a little while. Eagle eyed phans may notice that while the design is new and modern, the concept is not new. The first was the ugly but highly collectible 1950's Puck Toby ceramic mug and again from the 1990's with the better looking ceramic mug by Monkeys of Melbourne and Skansons. These mugs are highly collectible and hold a special place in many phans hearts and I expect this more modern but similar designed mug will also find a similar place in phans hearts and collections. [Editors Note:] Chronicle Chamber team member Kristian Hellesund has wrote an article in a local newspaper with his review of the Fantomet landscape 2022 Album. With his permission we have included a translated version of the original newspaper article here. It is good to see The Phantom included in any newspapers. If you find anything Phantom related in the local newspaper, please contact us. In 2022 we will also get an annual album with The Phantom. It is a mix of old and new stories with the Ghost Who Walks. Last year's album with Fantomet was a success. This is Norway's only new Phantom release for the year and includes three American newspaper stories. It starts with “The Golden Sands of Keela-Wee”, which was written by Lee Falk and drawn by Sy Barry. The story was originally printed in American newspapers in 1966 to 1967 and the story has been previously published in Norway in Fantomet 22/1971 and 10/2001. In this album, the story is complete including a new translation and coloring by Ivan Pederson. The action takes us to the 17th century, where we get the background to why Keela-Wee Beach is in the Phantom's possession. It is a pleasant historical story and also recaps The Phantom's first encounters with the emperor Joonkar. The story has its fair doses of suspense and melodrama including Joonkar's wife being kidnapped and rescued. The oldest story is “The Imaginary Playmate” by Lee Falk and Wilson McCoy which ran in newspapers in 1953 and 1954. It is a sentimental story about a boy who becomes the Phantom's friend for lack of other playmates. While there is some tension in the story including a kidnapping of the boy, the highlight is seeing the Phantom playing with little Conley. The story has been out in Norway three times previously – most recently in the collection book Fantomet Chronologisk no. 7 from 2018. In my opinion the most important story in this years album is the recent story “The Llongo Forest” by Tony DePaul and Mike Manley from 2020. This daily strip story is both exciting and offer some doses of psychologising around the character. There there are moments where it is uncertain whether the Phantom is hallucinating or actually experiencing what is depicted in the narrative. It is closely related to the current Daily stories recently published in newspapers around the world about the Phantom's future including a possible death of the 21st Phantom. While I always find it nice to see classic adventures with The Phantom, in my opinion it's strictly speaking the newer material which I find the most interesting and important. These old daily strips and Sunday stories have already been published several times already and I think you should use the limited space of one issue per year to release new stories. Phans who want the nostalgia feel of reading classic stories can buy The Phantom chronological collections which are still released every quarter. Most Norwegian newspapers has stopped printing the current daily and Sunday stories I would like to see these modern new never before published stories included in the albums. It will give phans a good opportunity to keep up to date on the adventures of the Phantom. This project has been on the planning stage for a while but those at Wulfric Media / Reaper's Quest have given us an opening date of the Kickstarter campaign. The open date for the campaign is Wednesday 2 November and the end date Friday 2 December. You can view the Kickstarter Campaign here The quick facts are: $90,000au is the goal for this to go ahead There are 6 pledge levels ranging from $20 for an unpainted miniature to $1,100 for all ten miniature's painted and personally signed by Glenn Ford. The total map will be 45cm x 75 cm The map will be split into 15cm x 15cm tiles (like a jigsaw) The ten prominent landmarks are Phantom Peak, The Skull Cave, Misty Mountains, Witchman’s Peak, Isle of Eden, Keela-Wee, Whispering Grove, the Eastern Dark, Nyahpura (Emperor Joonkar's palace) and the Jungle Patrol Headquarters The miniatures will then slip into groves onto the tiles For Those Who Have Come In Late who have never been involved in a Kickstarter before, you pledge money and you get charged at the end of the campaign if it successfully reaches it goal (in this case $90,000AU). The brilliant factor behind this is IF it doesn't reach the total - you do not get charged. There have been three previous Phantom Kickstarter campaigns which all meet the target. For those who live outside Australia, items will be available for all phans who live overseas with the only extra being international shipping. This reviewer prefers these Moonstone stories over the newspaper and Frew stories. For me I prefer the art. Would be interesting what other readers think as well. Along with these stories we also get a double page spread poster with adverts on each side which ensures you can hang it up without ruining the story.
