In June 2023, we announced that King Features had a new TV show in development, and now nearly 30 months later, we have another new announcement that Netflix will be the streaming company that will be partnering with KFS to produce the new show. In the past we were told Netflix was the company involved, but now it seems official.
X (formerly Twitter) account @MyTimeToShineH has posted the news on their subscription account. We have included a screenshot of the announcement.

Pop Cultcha website ComicBookMovie.com has also posted about the news, which you can read here.
At this stage, no official news on who will play the Phantom or other characters or when the show will be released has been posted. 2026 is the Phantom's 90th birthday, and it would be a great celebration. It will also time very well with Mad Cave Studios' new Phantom comic book series.
There will be plenty of rumours that will now flutter their way onto social media and various phan groups. To add to the first rumor, Billy Zane in 2025 at several Q&As in the USA and Australia expressed an interest in playing a key role as the father who passes the mantle onto his son.
If you hear of any further news related to the TV show or anything else, please let us know. Thanks go to Jaime Diaz and Scott Burkhart for the heads-up on this news.
