Artovision 3D is a USA company that produces layered 2D artwork on acrylic to give it a 3D effect. At the bottom of the article is a video showing the layer effect for those who want to see the effect in practice. Artovision 3D has hundreds of different designs in their catalogue, including video games like Street Fighter and, closer to home, Popeye and other King Features designs. It is worth noting these are official licensed products and, while sold on Etsy, are not "knockoffs." No word yet if this is the only design or if they will release other designs. Christian Moller reviews ECR Phantom magazines #98, #99 & #100. For those who may be confused, the numbering refers not to the issue number but to the Daily story number. These were released in January 2026. The stories we review in this video are "Totemannspunkt" ("Deadman's Point") by Lee Falk  and Sy Barry "Der rasende Elefant" ("The Rogue Elephant") by Lee Falk  and Sy Barry "Dschungelolympiade" ("Jungle Olympics") by Lee Falk  and Sy Barry You can order your copy of this and other comics from ECR via their email address ecr-vlg@gmx.net . The package is three comics sent together for € 29, which is roughly € 10 per comic. It is worth noting that these stories have been previously published by Bastei comics back in the 1970s. ECR has been focusing on printing the Phantom stories that have not been published in Germany and or West Germany. These magazines are printed in good quality in original black and white on very thick paper stock. You can hear the thickness and quality of the paper as I turn the pages. The design of the Phantom and Devil leaning over the bad guy on the ground comes from their 13th issue by artist Ranjan Dutta . This is used on the new mouse pad but also on their jumper and shirt. The design of the full figure of the Phantom shooting his guns comes from their issue #19 and again was designed by artist Ranjan Dutta . The final shirt design with the bust profile of the Phantom with the guns underneath the Phantom's chest comes from the variant cover design from their issue #7 designed by artist Avishek Biswas .

After a holiday break, we return to the world of Phantom 2040: A New Shadow with a brand new episode. While we don't get to see more of Carlos Oserio in the Phantom suit, nor in action, we do get a bit of an investigative thriller episode that further intertwines the villainous plot happening behind the scenes. Mel is back as the main focus this episode, and what she reveals is both a complication for our heroes, as well as a big mic-drop moment for long-time fans of the Phantom 2040 series. Christian Moller reviews Wick Publications #9-10 which features the following stories: " Die Bergkrieger " (" The Mountain Warriors ") by Peter Mennigen and José María Ortiz Tafalla " Die Schatzkammer des wandelnden Geistes " ("The Treasure of the Ghost Who Walks") by Peter Mennigen and José María Ortiz Tafalla "Die Hexenjagd" ("The Witch Hunt") by Peter Mennigen and José María Ortiz Tafalla "Der Zwillingsbruder" ("The Twin Brother") by Peter Mennigen and José María Ortiz Tafalla Three of the four stories were first released prior in the Bastei  German comic book series and have been restored and printed on top quality paper with amazing printing. The finished product is great with the stories printed in black and white, and the stories are enjoyable. The fourth story, " Die Hexenjagd " (" The Witch Hunt ") is the first time it has been published but was originally created back in the 1980's and was finished before the comic series was cancelled - the issue it was going to be released in was issue #244. A great cover by Ertuğrul Edirne who is a Turkish cover artist currently living in Germany. These covers originally featured on the Büyülü Çizgi Roman Turkish series. Those with a keen eye will notice, the colour of the Phantom's costume has been changed to purple. Please note that the print run is smaller than most comics, at only 700 copies. The last issues, #11 and #12, will be released in February or March 2026 (subject to possible future delays). It is worth noting that issue 12 will be in full colour. News has filtered through that Chris Smith, an Australian-born collector who has lived in the USA for the past few decades, has sadly passed away over the last few days. It is safe to say that at one stage, Chris had the largest and most diverse Phantom collection in the world. He had a Phantom Museum from the late 1990s in his home in the USA and the below video and above gallery are from that time period. He also wrote several articles for the Friends of the Phantom newsletters and helped Nigel Johnson with prices and information for the Australian Price Guides. In the last couple of years, some of his amazing research came online in the presence of his Instagram profile . We thank Chris for sharing with us his jaw-dropping Phantomania collection and the Phantom information he has researched and shared with us over the years. His legacy will be long-lasting.

During this holiday season, one might find themselves pondering a 'What if?' scenario or two. So What if... Billy Zane was a gamer? With over 150 million units sold, the Nintendo Switch is the highest-selling console of the current generation of consoles ( Switch , Switch 2 , PS5 and Xbox Series S/X ). With that many units sold, it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to imagine someone in Billy Zane 's circle of friends owning one. In fact, they may own one and, knowing that Billy played The Phantom in the 1996 movie of the same name, might have bought (Australian video game developer) Art of Play 's The Phantom Video Game and given it a playthrough. It's also not too much of a stretch to imagine that they enjoyed the retro goodness of the side-scrolling beat 'em up with magnificent hand drawn art by Anthony Spay and thought, "I should take this to Billy and give him a go at playing The Phantom (again)". If this were to happen, one could imagine that Billy might enjoy the game too. He might even think, "Hmm, it's been a while since I've done voice work for a video game (2002's Kingdom Hearts , where he played the villain Ansem). It would be cool to get to play The Phantom again." If this were to happen, what would be the cost of bringing in a Hollywood actor, such as Zane, to redo the voice overs for The Phantom? One can assume that he wouldn't come cheap, and Art of Play wouldn't have the cash reserves as say an EA , Epic or Ubisoft would have. Also, the game has already been out for 9 months. Having Billy Zane involved would have to guarantee a major uptick in sales to help cover the costs. Would that also mean upping the price of the game as well? What about those of us who have already bought the game? Could Billy Zane 's voiceover be included as downloadable content? Again, what would the cost of that be? What if, Billy negotiated a deal with Art of Play to make everything manageable for everyone? One wouldn't expect that Billy would need much time in the studio, probably only a few hours. If he gave a good deal on his fee, would he then want a % of the sales? What would be fair in this instance? What if this all happened nice and smoothly? What would KFS ' reaction be? Would they demand another fee for extra content, or would they be happy for Art of Play to continue developing and providing DLC for the game as they see fit under the current licence? What if, what if, what if...?

Christian Moller  reviews the third Austrian Phantom comic from the newest magazine series from Art:9 . The magazine was first released in shops at the end of November 2025. Apart from " Kleiner Toma " (" Little Toma ") being published in 1972 in West Germany, this is the first time that these stories have been published not only in Austria but also in Germany and Switzerland, where this series is also available for sale. With news that the first set of Phantom Saturday Morning Card (SMC) cards is close to being sold out, the discussion naturally turns to whether we will see a second series be released. In our interview with Daniel Nguyen , the director of Saturday Morning Cards  (SMC) he said the likelihood of a second series will be determined by the sales. With this in mind, do we phans want a second series? What would you like to see in a possible second series? In the first series we saw five different designs (full face, slam evil, gallery, skull throne and classic) of just the Phantom. Would you like to see different characters included with or fighting the Phantom? Diana, Hero, Devil, Singh Pirates, Sala? What about more designs for the next series? Would you like to see any particular Phantom credited cover or story artists featured on the second series or as guest sketch card artists? Would you like to see an increase of sketch cards? Could we see a mini-series of popular past Phantom covers included as a sub-chase set or limited card? Would limited autograph cards be appealing to collectors? One of the world's most popular and long-lasting creators of the Phantom, Heiner Bade is from Germany, which has a rich history of the Phantom. This includes a current mini renaissance with many Germanic publishers publishing new and old classic stories in several publications - all of these are reviewed on our Chronicle Chamber website and YouTube Channel . Starting in 2026, German comic publisher Comics und Mehr (translated to Comics and More ) will be starting a new series celebrating the Phantom's 90th anniversary and Heiner Bade . The series will be featuring six volumes in total, and all in colour. Each volume will feature two stories and will be 72 pages in total. In the blurb on their website, they do make mention that one of Heiner Bade 's true classic stories, " The Ku Klux Klan ," will be featured in one of the volumes. Volume one will be released in March-April 2026 and feature " The Ghost Pirate ," written by Donne Avenell , first published in 1987, and " The White Elephant ," written by Claes Reimerthi , first published in 2008. At this stage we do not know the contents for the other volumes, but with 90+ other stories, the publisher has a lot of great stories to choose from. From what we understand, each volume will also feature a variant hardcover edition limited to 77 copies. The first volume will feature a cover by Henrik Salhstrom which was originally used for a different story, " Broken Tusk " and was published in Fantomen 5/2024 . The variant cover is a new Heiner Bade cover not published before. If you are interested in buying these issues, we recommend contacting them via their website . They have subscription options and do ship outside of Germany to limited countries.

The great thing about these new publishers publishing the Phantom is the new artists from all corners of the world drawing our hero. Joel Folda from Italy is one of the latest artists who has created two covers and a short web comic for Tasq Force . We were lucky enough to spend some time getting to know him and able to share with all. Jermayn Parker: Thank you for joining us. Can you tell us about yourself? Joel Folda: My name is Joel Folda and I'm Italian, but I currently live in Malta. I finished my studies at the Academy of Fine Art in Naples and during that journey, I officially started my career in the comic book industry in 2020 as a colorist. I eventually started getting my first works as a drawer later in 2021. This started with the strip released monthly, about the history of Naples, for a local Magazine called Informare . JP : Can you tell us about your history with the phantom? JF: I got to know about Phantom when I was very young; I had a lunch bag themed with The Defenders of the Earth . It was explained to me that Phantom, Flash Gordon, and Mandrake were previously published in Italy in the seventies by Fratelli Spada and ever since then, I have tried to get as many comic books as possible. Later on, I got to know the work of the astonishing artists Sy Barry , Roy Felmang , Sal Velluto , Massimo Gamberi and the divine Angelo Todaro . I owe a lot to these wonderful artists. JP: What appeals to you about the Phantom? JF: I have always loved old-school characters. Additionally, I adore this interesting fact of how Phantom is colored differently in several countries. The color red was very predominant during my childhood; you can even call it the color of heroes, especially in Italian culture. And of course, as you all surely know, Phantom in Italy was always colored in red. JP: How’d you get the gig of the covers with Tasq Force ? JF: I owe the pleasure of working on the phantom to Mr. Eoin McAuley , who I met for the first time at Malta Comic Con back in 2023. He believed in my work and gave me the possibility to do my best with the character. JP: What is your process for the covers you have created for Tasq Force ? JF: In general, when I draw a cover, I pass through the canon phases of drawing a sketch and then continuing with the pencil work, inks and colors. With interior stories, I firstly start with conceptualizing the layout and storyboard; following this, I advance to pencil work, lettering, ink, and finishing off with the colors. Before I start sketching, my work is mostly dedicated to the documentation. This is initiated by collecting every kind of reference or photo to understand visually and conceptually how the story will evolve. When it comes to working on the Phantom, my focus is more on giving a lot of time to the phase of the documentation. This is crucial, even before starting to work. My main focus is to ensure that the characters are recognizable, and the artist I use the most as a reference is Sy Barry . JP: Can you tell us about the short Christmas-themed story? JF: It had started with an idea to be posted on social media as a Christmas postcard. After proposing my idea to Eoin, he kindly wrote the dialogue. From my side I took care of the drawings and lettering, with the colours being taken care of by a good friend of mine, Antonio Pirro . He is a long-standing collaborator and talented artist. JP: How can phans see your work & follow you on social media?
