  • Review: 'Phantom 2040: A New Shadow' Episode 18

In Phantom 2040: A New Shadow Episode 17, readers were presented with the primary antagonist's POV leading up to the final battle. In this latest episode, the creative team does the reverse, presenting readers with the new Phantom's (Carlos Oserio) perspective as he fully embraces his destiny and races toward the villain's lair. With only two episodes left, we're hoping for an explosive bout of fisticuffs between these two central figures. Read Phantom 2040: A New Shadow Episode 18 here John Amor, whose art kicked off the Phantom 2040: A New Shadow series, does the creative for this issue, creating a labrynthine, dystopian nightmare-scape that Phantom and Fitzroy descend on their way to Charles Tyrus' lair. As they traverse a seemingly endless tunnel, Phantom speaks with the ghost of his father, Kit Walker Jr. It's a conversation meant to pull at the heartstrings of long-time phans, playing to the audience's understanding and embodiment of what The Phantom means to them. Phantom 2040: A New Shadow Episode 18 art by John Amor Does it hit the mark? We have our opinions, but we'd love to hear from you. Question for the Phans: How do you feel about Kit Walker Jr.'s pep talk? Let us know by commenting below this article, on our YouTube, or by dropping us a line. We'd love to hear your thoughts!
