Review: "Phantom 2040: A New Shadow" Episode 2

The second episode of Phantom 2040: A New Shadow is live on Comics Kingdom, and it delves much deeper into our main protagonist, Carlos Oserio. In this second episode, we find a former soccer all-star player struggling with who he used to be. Gone is the heroic leader, once known around the world as El Fantasma De Futbol. In his place, readers find a struggling young man who wants to keep his head down, lay low, and just do his job.

Written by series writers Alex Segura and Michael Moreci, with illustrations by John Amor, this episode also introduces us to Mel, a figure from Carlos' past, and Charles Tyrus, the tech magnate villain of Phantom 2040: A New Shadow. We don't know much about either character... yet. What we do know, however, is that Mel and Carlos once had a much closer relationship, though some distance has grown between them in recent months. Tyrus, on the other hand, seems to be reviled, though he is touting some big "announcement" in the Ghost Jungle.

Question for the Phans: Are you sympathetic to Carlos? Does he feel like an every-man type of hero?
