Review of ECR Phantom #85, #86, The Hardcover Edition & Sammlerherzchen 2

Christian Moller reviews the latest issue's from ECR (Edition Comic Rundschau). In this video he reviews the Sammlerherzchen 2 comic, and magazines #85 and #86 with the HC special edition. The numbering refers not to the issue number but the Daily story number.

The stories we review in this video are:

  • "Die Entstehung der Dschungelpatrouille" ("The Founding of the Jungle Patrol") by Lee Falk and Sy Barry (first six weeks)

  • "Der mysteriöse Botschafter" ("The Mysterious Ambassador") by Lee Falk and Sy Barry

  • "Das Geheimnis der Hundeinsel" ("The Mystery of the Island of Dogs") by Lee Falk and Sy Barry

You can order your copy of this and other comics from ECR via their email address - ecr-vlg@gmx.net.

While these stories have been published in Bastei comics back in the 1970's, these magazines are printed in better quality in original black and white on very thick paper stock. You can hear the thickness of the paper as I turn the pages.

ECR has also released a special hardcover edition which includes the two daily stories with a separate designed cover. The Sammlerherzchen 2 comic features the Phantom story in colour while the other stories are in black and white.

The covers are again designed by Andy. There has been some discussion online about if they are AI generated art or not.

All ECR and other German comic reviews will be included in our monthly X-Band: The Phantom Podcasts. You can find out more at our website and or subscribe to our YouTube channel for more videos.
