Review of 'Defenders of the Earth: Dark Destiny #2' from Mad Cave Studios

We're two issues deep (or seemingly halfway through) the Defenders of the Earth: Dark Destiny miniseries that continues on story threads for the 8-part Defenders of the Earth series from last year. In this follow-up, our heroes (Flash Gordon, Mandrake the Magician, Lothar, and The Phantom) are on Mongo, where Flash finds himself sentenced to... trial by combat... for a second time.

Synopsis: TRIAL BY FLASH! In the wake of Ming’s defeat, the factions of Mongo are divided. But they can all agree on one thing: It’s the Defenders’ fault! Especially that Flash Gordon! To stave off outright murder, Flash agrees to be tried. And it’s a good thing he speaks best with his fists, because it’s a trial by combat! Meanwhile, Rick Gordon and his friends’s search for Dale Arden comes to an abrupt halt when the Weather Demon attacks!
