Going through the Previews catalogue today to place my monthly comics pre-orders I came across something rather interesting; some new Phantom merchandise that will be hitting comic stores in a few months time.
The two pieces of merchandise, as you can probably tell from the title of this post, are a 2014 diary and a journal. As I was viewing the digital edition of the Previews catalogue which simply gives a listings of items released during the given month there were no further details other than the title of each item. However, after a bit of searching I was able to find a bit more information on both books. According to Westfield Comics‘ website both publications will be available in August with the diary retailing for $18.99US and the journal $11.99.
Interestingly, if you take a look at the description of the 2014 diary on Westfield’s page, you’ll notice that the diary contains “Phantom comic covers from around the world.” This sounds very similar to the Mallon published diaries Australian phans have been getting for many years now. While the site does not mention who the publisher is, it would be very interesting if it was Mallon as it would be the first time the diaries have been available internationally.
So, if the 2014 diary and a Phantom journal is something you’d like to add to your collection, be sure to contact your local comic store and ask them to put aside a copy for you. Simply quote them the Previews numbers from our listings and they’ll be able to fix you up.
