The Australian Women's Mirror has been digitised

Writer: Stephen EastStephen East

The National Library of Australia has been creating digitized copies of significant publications from Australia's history for some time now and has just recently archived the complete print run of The Australian Women's Mirror.

As many phans would know, the Australian Women's Mirror was the first publication in Australia to print The Phantom strip and this occurred in the September 1st, 1936 issue on page 49 (as seen above).

This is an incredible piece of Phantom history and I am sure that phans everywhere will appreciate the work that the NLA has done to preserve this piece of history for generations to come.

If you'd like to browse the entire collection of The Australian Women's Mirror click here.

Happy Phantoming!
