CC Gatherings
The ChronicleChamber.com Gathering is an annual event usually held in Sydney at the Supanove convention at which phans from all across the country gather to share their love for The Ghost Who Walks. Anyone and everyone is welcome to join us. It’s a great chance to meet fellow phans, make contacts and friends and share stories. The day is often topped off with you a group hunt for all those elusive Phantom collectables you’ve been after and it’s always a LOT of fun!

Dates/ Times:
This year’s Gathering will again be held at the SupaNova convention in Sydney, Australia. As mentioned previously, the reason we meet at the con is that it’s a wonderful opportunity to buy up all those Phantom back issues and collectables you’ve been after. The date and times for this year’s SupaNova convention are
- Saturday June 16th, 10am to 6pm, 2012
- Sunday June 17th, 10am to 6pm, 2012
The Gathering will take place on the Saturday. We will be meeting outside the main convention entrance at 1pm. From there we’ll go and get some lunch, have a chat and introduce/ catch up with one another. After lunch we usually go back onto the con floor and as a group search for those elusive Phantom items we’ve been after.
Cost:
There is NO cost to attend that Gathering, but if you plan on going into the con you WILL have to buy a ticket (we’ll let you know when they go on sale). It’s also a good idea to bring money for food and drinks.
Parking/ Transport/ Maps:
The convention will be held at The Dome, Sydney Showground located at 1 Showground Road, Sydney Olympic Park, NSW 2127. For a map of the area, transport and parking information see HERE.
Accommodation:
There are several hotels at the Showground itself, all within walking distance of the convention. For information on all of these hotels, see HERE.
If you feel that you’d like to go into the Sydney CBD for any length of time, you may want to consider getting a hotel closer to the city. While there are trains to and from the Showground and the City, they may not run at times that suit. We suggest Googleing ‘Sydney accommodation’.
LFMBEC Dinner:
In the last several years the Australian chapter of the Lee Falk Memorial Bengalla Explorers’ Club have had one of their annual dinners the night of the CC Gathering. The dinner has taken place at night after the Gathering, generally starting at 7pm at one of Sydney’s finest restaurants. 2012 is no diffirent with the LFMBEC hosting a dinner at the Efendy Turkish Restaurant. Many of us who attend the Gathering also attend the Dinner and it’s always a great time.
Unlike the CC Gathering, however, there is a cost to the Dinner as the LFMBEC needs to pay for the rent of the venue and for the three-course meal attendees enjoy. The LFMBEC always hold an auction of Phantom and comic memorabilia at their dinners with all money made going to the Childrens’ Hospital in Westmead.
