2012 Year in Review

For those out there who collect Phantom comics not only for reading but as collectibles, this article will detail (probably) all Phantom-related comic books released in the world during 2012. Most of the links compiled here lead to articles on PhantomWiki, the online Phantom encyclopaedia that anyone can contribute to. Like all wikis, it is constantly a “work-in-progress”, and the articles will be in varying degrees of completion. It will, however, give a very comprehensive look on what was released last year, and it can also lead you to find many other interesting articles on PhantomWiki.

USA

• The final two issues of THE LAST PHANTOM
• The second TRADE PAPERBACK which collects the second half of the LAST PHANTOM series.
• A Phantom cameo appearance in FLASH GORDON: ZEITGEIST #4
• The fourth volume of THE COMPLETE NEWSPAPER DAILIES
• The first volume of THE COMPLETE SUNDAYS
• Three volumes of THE COMPLETE SERIES (THE KING YEARS VOL. 1, THE CHARLTON YEARS VOL. 1 and THE GOLD KEY YEARS VOL. 2)
• 6 double issues of COMICS REVUE (#309-310 to 319-320)

AUSTRALIA

• 31 issues of THE PHANTOM
• The 2013 PHANTOM DIARY

SWEDEN

• 19 issues of FANTOMEN (12 regular and 7 “double issues”)
• Four books in the series FANTOMEN – DEN INBUNDNA ÅRGÅNGEN, with complete facsimile reprints of Fantomen issues from 1960-61.
• The 69th annual FANTOMEN CHRISTMAS ALBUM.
• Also worth noting was extensive Phantom newspaper articles in NYA WERMLANDS-TIDNINGEN and SVENSKA DAGBLADET (the latter celebrating 70 years of publishing the Phantom daily strip).
• Also, the Scandinavian Chapter released a FANTOMEN WALL CALENDAR for 2013 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Team Fantomen.

NORWAY

• 18 issues of FANTOMET (10 regular and 8 “double issues”)
• 6 issues of FANTOMET GULLALDEREN (#5-10)

FINLAND

• 6 issues of MUSTANAAMIO SPESIAALI
• 1 pocket book in the series PULP
• A hardcover book collecting all Phantom stories published in MUSTANAAMIO in 1968
• Also worth noting was a supplement in the newspaper KARJALAINEN which included a complete Phantom daily strip story and several articles.

FRANCE

• The final two albums in the series THE PHANTOM

TURKEY

• The third issue of YENI KIZILMASKE SÜPER MACERALAR
